Essential Guide to 3D Digitised Heritage

Series of 3 introductory webinars on 3D Digitised Cultural Heritage for cultural heritage professionals, researchers, volunteers and others, delivered by CARARE

The webinar series Essential Guide to 3D Digitised Heritage is developed by CARARE for the 5DCulture project as part of its capacity building activities.
The webinars provide an introduction to 3D, an introduction into the capturing and processing of 3D data and an introduction into archiving, sharing and reusing 3D data.
The focus is on 3D Digitised Heritage, but the essentials are applicable to other domains as well.

The webinar series consists of three webinars:

Webinar 1: Introduction to 3D
Webinar delivered by Catherine Anne Cassidy, CARARE's digital skills officer, providing an introduction to 3D.  This webinar is the first in a series developed by CARARE for the 5DCulture project as part of its capacity building activities.
This webinar explores the uses of 3D digitisation in cultural heritage, methods for digitisation and things to consider when setting up a project such as the resources and skills required, and object selection and handling.
It concludes by introducing topics which will be covered in more detail in the following two webinars including standards, metadata, rights and licences, archiving and re-use of 3D content in various applications (online, in print, in stories, creative projects and so on).

Webinar 2: Capturing and Processing 3D data
Presentation given by Catherine Anne Cassidy as part 2 in a webinar series on 3D digitised heritage produced by CARARE for the 5DCulture project.
This presentation focuses on capturing and processing 3D data on cultural heritage objects and monuments.

Webinar 3: Archiving, Sharing and Reusing 3D
Part three of the essential guide to 3D digitised heritage webinar series provides an introduction to archiving, sharing and re-using 3D data for cultural heritage professionals, researchers, volunteers and others.
This webinar was delivered by Kate Fernie, CARARE, as part of the capacity building activity for the 5DCulture and Tech4Heritage projects.
