On the occasion of the International Day for Women and Girls in Science (9-12 February 2024), the Institute of Research in Iberian Archaeology at the University of Jaén has organized an educational activity aimed at promoting gender equality and highlighting the role of women in Archaeology research.
Declaration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by the University of Jaén This activity conducted and made possible by the Insititute of Research in Iberian Archeology (IUIAI), targeted at children aged 9 years and above, involved a tour of various IUIAI laboratories, along with a series of practical and multidisciplinary activities demonstrating archaeological methodology.
The 5Dculture project has developed and conducted a workshop focused on creating 3D models and their educational and research applications in the study of Iberian culture. Led primarily by female members of the project, the workshop includes explanations on object scanning, 3D printing, utilization of various printing materials, creation of 3D puzzles, symbolic representation of Iberian ex-votos using 3D models, and virtual reconstruction of ceramic vessels using mixed reality glasses.
